“29 September World Heart Day” event was held.

Cardiovascular diseases are among the most common and life-threatening diseases all over the world and in our country. For this reason, every year 29 September is celebrated as World Heart Day in order to raise social awareness against cardiovascular diseases, which are an important health problem, and to protect heart health. For this purpose, in cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Vocational School of Health Services, on October 5, 2022, the World Heart Day event was held on September 29, with the theme of "The Key to a Healthy Life is the Heart" on the Ağdacı Campus of our University. The participant’s blood pressure measurements and body mass index calculations were made by the nursing and elderly care program students who took part in the event. The participants were informed about the importance of cardiovascular diseases, risk factors, suggestions for our heart health and important symptoms frequently seen in heart diseases by the lecturers in charge of the event, and informative brochures prepared for the event were given. Participants with high blood pressure values ​​and risk of heart disease were directed to a health institution. A total of 151 people participated in the event, which attracted the attention of the academic staff, administrative staff, and students of our university.

We would like to thank the valuable participants who showed interest in and participated in our event, and our students who took part in the event and worked devotedly.
