Obesity, one of the most significant health issues globally, is poised to create a burden of disease for future generations, being recognized particularly as a significant risk factor for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and joint pain. Therefore, with the aim of raising awareness about obesity, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bartın University organized an "Obesity Awareness Event" on March 4, 2024. As part of the event, participants underwent height-weight measurements and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations. A total of 65 people, including university faculty, administrative staff, and students, participated in the event, showing great interest. Measurements were taken with the support of students from the Nursing Department and faculty members from the Department of Nursing Principles, recorded, and shared the results with the participants. Participants expressed gaining awareness about BMI, stating their intention to increase physical activity and prioritize healthy eating based on the measurement results. We extend our gratitude to all the valuable participants who attended our event.
