Orientation Programme Held for First-Year Students in the Department of Midwifery
An orientation program was organized by the Department of Midwifery at the Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences to support first-year students in adapting to university life. The program took place on September 24, 2026, at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Prof. Dr. Elif Karahan, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, delivered the opening speech. She welcomed the new students and wished them success in their academic journey. Subsequently, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacer Yalnız Dilcen, Head of the Midwifery Department, shared information about the department.
As part of the orientation program, faculty members provided information regarding the academic work and departmental activities that students would encounter during their education. The program also covered the facilities offered by the university, social activities, and student participation in university life.
Second- and third-year midwifery students also took part in the event. Senior students shared their university and departmental experiences with the first-year students, helping their new peers get to know the department better. Students had the opportunity to speak with faculty members and senior students about topics they were curious about.
The orientation program, which facilitated interaction between new students, faculty members, and senior students, concluded following the introductory and informational activities.
