Bartın University (BARÜ) "First Aid Trainer Training Center", where faculty members of the Faculty of Health Sciences provide theoretical and practical training, has completed its first training. Participants completed the training with 100 percent efficiency in the first and only center of the region authorized by the Ministry of Health. Trainees who showed great success in the two-stage exams organized by the Provincial Health Directorate were entitled to receive the 'First Aider Authorization Certificate' and 'First Aider Identity Card', valid for three years.

Participants stated that the first aid training they received at the center was very useful to them and thanked those who contributed to the implementation of these trainings.

Touching on the importance of first aid practices in the struggle to save lives, Center Director and Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sevim Çelik emphasized that everyone should have high awareness on this issue and that first aid should be administered by trained people, which is a sensitive issue.

Stating that there is a great interest in the program, Çelik stated that educational programs will continue to be opened for our faculty members, students and the whole region.

BARÜ Rector Prof. stated that the success rate achieved in the trainings given by a professional team is very pleasing. Dr. Orhan Uzun said, “The natural disasters we have experienced consecutively in recent years have shown that one of the most important needs of society is to train individuals with first aid knowledge and skills. We are very pleased with the contribution of our University, which trains well-equipped health professionals within the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Vocational School of Health Services, to the training of qualified human resources needed by the society in the field of first aid. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our students who successfully passed the first training given at the center. In addition, our Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof., for his efforts in this vitally important issue. Dr. Dear Sevim Çelik, our Provincial Health Director Dr. for his close attention.
