The theater performance titled “Lives Growing in the Shadows,” staged within the scope of the “Do Not Poison My Future” project supported by UNIDES at Bartın University, received great interest from the audience.

The project was carried out by the Sihirli Eller Midwifery Club of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The project was coordinated by Bahar Babamradova, a second-year student in the Department of Midwifery, and academically supervised by Research Assistant Dr. Ebru Bulut. During the event, the effects of addiction on individuals, families, and society were portrayed on stage. Through the theater performance, the aim was to raise awareness, particularly among young people, while offering the audience emotional and thought-provoking moments.

The performance emphasized that addiction is not merely an individual problem, but rather an issue with broad social, psychological, and familial dimensions. Through the stories presented on stage, the importance of early awareness, support mechanisms in the fight against addiction, and the development of healthy lifestyle behaviors were highlighted.

In addition to academic staff and students, many guests attended the event. Participants stated that the theater performance conveyed an important message both artistically and socially.

It was noted that such activities organized within the scope of the “Do Not Poison My Future” project play a significant role in raising awareness among young people and increasing social awareness in society.
