The 1st International Çeşm-i Cihan Health Congress in a Changing World was Held Hosted by Our Faculty

The 1st International Çeşm-i Cihan Health Congress in a Changing World, which we held for the first time on the 100th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic, was held online on 15-16 December 2023, hosted by our Faculty. After the February 6 Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, which shook our country deeply and whose sadness we will always feel, our congress will focus on reducing the effects of disasters, improving response processes in the light of digital applications and technology, and responding to disasters by sharing the latest scientific information under the theme of "Sustainable Disaster Management in a Changing World" within the scope of current developments in disaster management. It brought together international experts with the aim of developing sustainability-oriented solutions.

Our congress, our Vice Rector and Congress President Prof. Dr. Our congress, which started with the opening speech of Sevim ÇELİK, was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. from Malta. Corinne SCICLUNA, Dr. from the USA. Ali Rıza DEMİRBAŞ and Katkleen EVIZA, Dr. from Japan. Ai OGATA, Dr. from Iran. Khatereh SEYLANI, Dr. from Canada. Patrick CHIU and Dr. from Belgium. Emine AKTAŞ BAJALAN contributed at the international level. 2 Panels, 1 Conference and 7 Oral presentation sessions were held with the participation of valuable national and international scientists, researchers and stakeholders.

Within the scope of these sessions; Very important topics such as Health Protection and Allocation of Medical Resources in Emergency Situations, Current Approaches in Vulnerable Groups, Tele-Nursing Approaches for Emergency Planning and Response, and the importance of Civil Society Participation in Sustainable Development and Disaster Risk Reduction were discussed. At the same time, 50 oral presentations consisting of valuable researchers' experiences and studies were presented.

According to the results of the three-question Congress Evaluation Survey conducted within the scope of the congress;

  • “Were you satisfied with our congress?” The answer to the question was 100% yes.
  • “Did our congress meet your expectations in terms of scientific content?” The answer to the question was 98% yes.
  • “What theme or themes would you recommend for our next congress?” to the question; Digital and artificial intelligence applications in health, current approaches in nursing, global changes and climate change, difficulties experienced by health workers, management of chronic diseases, innovation in health, healthy aging and elderly care, health services in epidemics, traditional and complementary medicine practices, strengthening health systems, sustainable A wide variety of answers were given, such as health systems.

 

Finally, Mr. ÇELİK, who made the Congress Closing Speech, thanked our Rector Prof. for his support in organizing our congress.
