The Nursing Department 2024–2025 Academic Year Spring Semester-End Evaluation Meeting Was Held.
Under the leadership of Head of the Nursing Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal, an end-of-term evaluation meeting was held with the participation of nursing students and faculty members. The meeting comprehensively addressed the course processes, clinical practice areas, and student experiences during the Spring Term of the 2024–2025 academic year.
Key agenda items included the overall structure of theoretical and practical courses, the intensity of the course schedule, challenges encountered in clinical practice, and access to academic resources and materials. Students shared their evaluations regarding teaching methods in theoretical courses (lectures, presentations, group work, case analyses, etc.) and their integration with practical training. They also discussed the courses they found challenging and the reasons behind these difficulties.
Topics such as weekly course load, the balance between theoretical and practical hours, and time management during exam periods were also emphasized. Students detailed major challenges experienced in clinical settings (communication problems, lack of knowledge, physical conditions), along with opportunities for case observation and intervention. Issues related to limited resources were also raised, including the currency of library facilities, adequacy of laboratory equipment, and problems in accessing educational materials.
Additionally, student clubs, participation in social activities, and students’ interests were discussed. The importance of increasing participation rates was highlighted, along with the reasons behind limited involvement and students’ preferred types of activities (e.g., symposiums, volunteer projects, fieldwork).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hilal Uysal emphasized the value of this meeting, which took place with active student involvement, in enhancing the quality of education and ensuring student satisfaction. She stated that the feedback and suggestions expressed during the meeting would serve as a guide for planning the upcoming academic term.
